My Promise

Whether it be Cadets, a football team, or a debate club, every youth group provides young people with valuable skills for life.

I want to ensure these groups and their amazing opportunities are available to every young person in my area.

As your Youth Councillor, I will work within the local community to support existing groups and develop new initiatives to ensure every young person has the chance to contribute to society.

• february 2024

  Having completed training, I have started to develop an engaging politics programme for use in schools and youth groups. I trialled the UK Parliament-themed section of this with the Company (aged 11-14) section of my Boys’ Brigade Company, and will complete more trials soon to develop an effective activity programme.

• January 2024

  I have undertaken national training within The Boys’ Brigade which will enable me to deliver activities to groups of young people. I will use the skills I have developed during this to support other local youth organisations and develop engaging resources based around politics for them to use with their members.

• November 2023

  I understand how important youth groups and organisations are to their community and how much promotion can help them. I have created a ‘Youth Groups’ section on my website to provide a place for local youth groups to share information, along with providing a link to the SCVYS webpage with a similar function. I will continue to support local youth groups with their amazing work wherever I can.
